What is Lament?
A lament is a prayer or song expressing deep grief, sorrow, or confusion over the brokenness of the world, sin, or suffering.

Crucially, it is not just complaining; it is an act of faith that brings pain directly to God with renewed trust in Him.

Everywhere we look, we can see mayhem in our world, in our neighborhoods, and for some in our homes or bodies. It is natural for us to become overwhelmed or desensitized by a consistent flow of troubles.

In this workshop, you are invited to enter a space specifically designed to metabolize pain, be it heartache, anger, or sadness. Through the pattern set out in the Psalms, each person will be given an opportunity to write a lament and to share it with the group. Giving voice and bearing witness to one another is an enriching time together.

Join Melodie to share in the spiritual practice of lament.
