What if creating with God had nothing to do with talent, and everything to do with play?

Maybe your Bible study has gone quiet lately. Maybe you're reading the words, but they're not connecting with you as deeply as they once did. Maybe you just need a space where nothing is asked of you except to show up, open, and let something true settle in.

This isn't an art class. You don’t need to have any experience in creating art, and there is no pressure to create a masterpiece. By the end of this workshop, you’ll have created something meaningful with God.

This is a space where scripture and simple doodles work together to help you slow down long enough to actually hear what God is inviting you into.

What to expect:

We'll spend time together in Lectio Divina. Latin for ‘Divine Reading,’ Lectio Divina is a gentle way of reading scripture slowly several times, listening for the Holy Spirit to reveal a word or phrase to you.

While the passage settles in, you'll doodle. Nothing fancy. Don’t worry, Austi will teach you basic shapes and doodles that keep your hands busy and your mind and soul open to God.

By the end of the workshop, you'll walk away with a finished piece, something you made with your own hands while you sat with God. A reminder that you spent real time with Him, and it mattered.

This Is For You If:

  • You love Jesus, but your time in Scripture has started to feel routine or distant
  • You're not an artist and have no interest in becoming one; you just want a different way to slow down and listen deeply to God
  • You're tired of quiet times that feel like one more task on the list
  • You want a small, low-pressure evening to reconnect, not another performance
  • You'd rather leave with something in your hands than one more thing checked off

What You'll Need:

  • Watercolor paper (a thick surface that holds up well to marker and color blending)
  • Black Sharpie (fine or medium tip, for bold outlines)
  • Micron pen or another thin black marker (for fine detail work)

Bring one or a mix of whatever you love working with:

  • Crayons
  • Colored pencils
  • Alcohol markers (such as Copic or Ohuhu)
  • Brush pens

Optional

Masking tape (to hold your paper in place while you work)

The Heart Behind It:

Sometimes we get so routine in our worship and connection with God. But what if God wants to connect to you in a playful, childlike way? If you need to slow down and want a way to connect with Jesus in a way that reminds you of his delight and love for you, join us for this workshop. We would love to have you and commune with God together through creative expression and playfulness.

Your Guide

Austi Baudro

I'm on mission to care for the souls of the women doing the hard work, who are leading and stewarding their lives well, but are weary from believing they have to earn their place in it. It's a tough spot to hold so much and still wonder if you're enough. So, how do we live this life with the abundance God promises us? That's what I'm passionate to help you answer.

I'm a certified Christian Spiritual Director and the founder of Robe and Crown, where I help Christian women stop performing for their worth and start living like they're already loved. I know the exhaustion of holding it all together, and I know what it took to finally believe I didn't have to.
