As we engage the world today, do you ever wonder about this God you knew in your head that is defined as a loving God and feel the disconnect in feeling any closeness? Maybe you were taught about a God that doesn't make sense any longer given our experience in the world and often times in church? Or maybe you desire a closer walk with God but just do not feel like that kind of relationship could be for you?

As we think about the God we know - we can come to wonder if there could be more in our spiritual relationship. How do we experience this God of love when it may not seem possible? Maybe you are like many others - your knowledge and understanding about God doesn't necessarily match your experience of God. Could there be more? Are there answers to these questions? Or do we just walk away?

Many have expressed a growing desire to know God more intimately; primarily knowledge-based faith doesn’t seem to suffice any longer. Many times our questions continue to go unanswered. Walking these doubts and questions out can be a lonely journey.

This course is a starting place to engage the conversation with others who hold the same type of questions and wonderings. Join in for a small group experience to wonder together about these types of questions and doubts. We will listen together using Scripture, contemplative prayer, and the gift of sacred community to begin to understand a God of love instead of judgment. This will open us to a deeper understanding of ourselves, God, and those around us.

Groups are limited to 6-8 participants so we can create a close community for sharing and growing deeper in our individual relationships with God.

Kathi Gatlin

Kathi Gatlin founded Boldly Loved and co-founded the Companioning Center to bring together her two greatest passions: spiritual formation and teaching. In this, she utilizes her DMin. in Leadership and Spiritual Formation from Portland Seminary and her M.Ed. earned through George Fox University.

Her greatest joy is walking alongside others, individually and in groups, in their own spiritual journey, sharing ways of understanding God anew through contemplative prayer and teaching, and to see them grow in the depth of their own understanding of who God is and who they are in relationship with God.

Kathi is a spiritual director, supervisor, writer, spiritual formation group facilitator, retreat speaker, and educator. For more information about Kathi, check out boldlyloved.org.
